How to: Flare (w/ Translation)

00:20 - have your legs spread out (knees - shoulders wide) and place your right hand iin the middle, but twist your arm so that the fingers are pointing to the right (not front)
00:33 - draw a semi circle with your right foot and bring your left foot up in the air
00:53 - when both your legs are at the front, place your left hand behind you, lined up about as wide as your shoulders
01:20 - you must use your hips as you kick your legs
01:33 - kick and put your hand down as quickly as you can
01:40 - when your lower body comes to your right side, quickly place your right hand with your head down
01:58 - at the beginning, try dragging your right foot slowly, not kicking high/fast
02:05 - your legs should look like a “V” when they’re in front of you
02:15 - when your lower body is coming towards your right, if you don’t put your right hand down, your legs will keep turning and may fall down
02:30 - when putting down your right hand, try to place it where you had it at the very begininng of your first spin
03:05 - kick your left leg STRAIGHT up, vertically up in the air, when your right leg is about to kick your left leg
03:30 - if you kick your left leg up high, you’ll automatically have more balance
03:55 - you’re supposed to use momentum to get spins, if not, it’s easy to fall out of the spin and collapse
04:30 - you have to always remember to place your hands where they’re supposed to be, as you spin (most people forget to repeat all the hand steps as your lower body spins)
05:30 - it’s easier to spin faster and properly if you place your right hand as close as you can to the left hand
05:40 - if your arms get too far apart, your arm starts to bend and you could fall or hurt your arm
06:00 - all your right leg is doing is drawing a big circle and your left leg is just being kicked every spin
06:20 - right after both your legs are in front of you, as they start turning, remember to stick your right foot up as high as you can, then your hips will follow to raise
06:30 - when your hips are raised, bring your left leg underneath and bring it up high in the air, as well
06:35 - then, your hips will be even more high and you will be in a handstand position
06:55 - it’s always hard to go from first spin to second spin because your timing can be off and may not have enough power
08:00 - remember to put your left hand down right after your legs form a “V”
08:40 - go with your own speed, either fast or slow, but keep the slow constant, do not change the speed of your spin during the spin
09:55 - you’ll have better (prettier, he says lol) looking flares if you spread your legs wider and easier

    this move is one of the hardest(no duh!) so if ur aching to get this power move real badly, you have to practice it EVERY DAY!!!!!! if you practice EVERY DAY! hard enough it should only take half a year to get it strait, i havent been practicing lately so much so i cant even do 2, and ive been bboying for like a year

    OMFG im right handed and ive been practicing with my right hand down ahh dam i did it wrong omg 5 months of wrong work im sapose to Put my left hand down if im right handed =P

    not really,
    my friend is right handed and he can flare with his right hand
    and i found out i cant use my left hand to flare and im right handed
    i guess its just what hand people are comfortable with
